The Hot Spot Opens in Karachi – October 2002

This thing keeps on rolling, a lot like The Blob in the classic 1950s horror flick.  We bring our touch of madness and funky tunes to Karachi, along with ice cream made exactly the same way as in Islamabad and Lahore.  

Years and years later, I would walk into The Hot Spot with a bunch of kids from a local school playing The Beatles incessantly, hanging out and tucking into their favourite ice cream and other goodies.  The vision of creating a space that gave people the space to feel at home, as in Pop Tate’s Ice Cream Shop from Archie Comics, seemed to have become a reality.  

Thank you eternally, Karachi, for allowing us to make a home for ourselves in the city.  By supporting us,  you allow people to dream that hard work does help to a better life.  Families have been able to survive in times of extreme difficulty.  This wouldn’t be possible without the support of our loyal customers.  After all these years, we may not be the most fashionable place in town, but we still hope to provide a shade to compliment all wonderful colours along the Karachi culinary rainbow.
