The Killer Rat has been busy collecting movie posters forever and now would like to share some of the posters close to his heart. This poster is of the highly polarising horror film by Eli Roth, where he underlined his credentials as an emerging horror director and a force to be reckoned with. Not everyone agrees however but that is unimportant. Roth was somewhat mentored by the great David Lynch and that is good enough for most of us. Cabin Fever was his breakthrough film and had the occasional Lynchian undertone (if you look hard enough). I have to admit to enjoying it thoroughly when I watched it in the cinema and then subsequently at home on more than one occasion. This poster was one I grabbed at the sadly defunct Cinema Store in London – the last of the truly wonderful cinema oriented outlets before the internet destroyed physical shops a few years later. All the movie geeks of the nation would gravitate to their amazing store, where you would often bump into a legend of horror movies or be able to attend a poster signing as I did around this time when I snagged several “Saw” posters signed by Jigsaw himself. We still have this poster and have ensured it isn’t ripped or damaged by being mounted on linen. Having treasured this and so many posters over the years, the time has come to start seeking homes for some of these before they end up in some garbage can of a flea market where they will be served up to customers like trash. So, if anyone is at all interested in purchasing this signed poster, please get in touch with us. The Killer Rat will happily negotiate, but our lowest asking price for this collector’s item is $250.
